László Almásy: By car in Sudan

The “English Patient”, the father of the Sahara, László Almásy was known by many names, and we are presenting a photographic documentation of his first trip to the Sahara in the Majority from 19 April to 29 July 2025.
In 1926, László Almásy set off for Africa, a then largely unknown black continent, with his brother-in-law, Prince Antal Esterházy. They crossed the Libyan and Nubian deserts on behalf of the Steyer car manufacturer, where they had to face many adventures and unexpected situations.
The exhibition presents 88 original archive photographs of the two explorers’ first Saharan voyage in the first half of the 20th century.
The exhibition will be open until 29 July 2025, guided until 29 July 2025, for a 500 HUF ticket.
